North Yorkshire Council - Report and information regarding flooding Grange Lane, Dacre Banks
North Yorkshire Council has provided the attached report and information regarding the flooding problems experienced around Grange Lane, Dacre Banks. This follows an investigation carried out in July 2024.
It was also noted in subsequent correspondence that "it is possible that this was a channelised watercourse, and the process of culverting was nothing more than putting a stone slab across the top of the channel. It's unlikely that the culvert was modelled to ensure it can hold flows from higher rainfall events. I say this just to note that repairs to the culvert may not fully alleviate the flooding problem in high intensity rainfall events, and therefore, residents may wish to look into property flood resilience for their own properties."
